Spanish Verb Conjugator – The Most Effective Tool When Studying Spanish Verbs
Many people now understand how beneficial it could be to be able to speak more than one language and for a lot of English speakers, Spanish is the obvious first choice. However, a great number of people enter into this admirable venture unprepared, having misled themselves into believing that they won’t have a problem picking up the language only then to be left bewildered at the first hint of difficulty, which is, I should add, normally at the same time as Spanish verb conjugations are introduced.
Although there are many areas of English grammar that can be difficult to grasp, learning verbs is not viewed as one of them, especially when comparing them to the complexities of Spanish conjugation. Take the verb to sing for example, in English this verb would be conjugated like this; I sing, you sing, he or she sings, we sing and they sing. The notable exception is the extra s added onto the end of the third person singular. This pattern of verb formation is normal in English, although sometimes an es is added instead and, as with every language, there are certain irregular verbs that do not follow this pattern.
However, when Spanish verb conjugation is compared to how English verbs are formed they can only be described as complicated, this is why so many potential Spanish speakers throw in the towel and give up any notion of being able to speak Spanish well when they begin struggling with them. Here is a quick example of a regular Spanish ar verb, hablar (to speak): I speak - hablo; you speak - hablas; he, she or it speaks – habla; you speak (polite singular) – habla; we speak – hablamos; you all speak or you speak (plural) – habláis; they speak – hablan; and lastly…you speak (polite plural) – hablan.
Having to learn separate endings for each verb form is bad enough, but when you also have to do so for another two verb groups, those verbs that end in -er and -ir, it becomes even more difficult. Though the icing on the cake is that the Spanish language comprises of a large number of irregular verbs, that do not follow the regular verb formations, many having completely unique endings for each verb. These irregular verbs are unavoidable as they are also used more than frequently than any of the regular verbs!
A Spanish verb conjugator can make the seemingly impossible job of learning verb structure much more palatable but nevertheless the task is still going to be hard work, that is until recently. For many years students of Spanish relied heavily on verb conjugation books and no matter how these books were redesigned there was little improvement on decreasing the time it took to learn verbs or in in how they were studied. However, this is |no longer the case and this is due to the increased popularity of the home computer and the internet in particular. Recent developments in verb conjugation software have not only improved the speed at which individuals master verbs through using interactive software, but have also made doing so much more enjoyable.
To finish up with, I will offer my opinion as a fellow student of Spanish, with regards to verb study. It is possible to learn verb conjugations using solely conjugation books and it has been for many, many years and that is a fact that cannot be disputed. However, since I started using a verb training software program a few months ago I have to say that it definitely improves conjugation study and it also makes them far easier to remember which, in turn, quickens the whole learning process.
